- Stabilization of Moving Dantzer Hill Slope
- Stabilization of Moving Dantzer Hill Slope
- Overview
Geotechnical Site Investigation, Slope Stability/Soil Settlement Analysis and Material Testing were done.
- Project Goal
The purpose of the site investigation was to address the following:
- Ground surface elevation at each borehole location Obtaining soil samples at 0.75 m interval. Conduct soil shear strength parameters and impact on subgrade performance.
- Identification of utility crossings and any other pertinent information for the City of Edmonton.
- Results
- A total of 3 boreholes were drilled during the drilling program.
- ZALIG installed inclinometers and monitored them for deep seated movements. The surficial movement was monitored using monuments and a 6 by 6 grid to determine any potential movement.
Laboratory testing includes the following:
- Moisture Content ASTM D2216
- Proctor Tests
- Atterberg Limits ASTM 4318
- Compaction Tests
- Project Benefits:
- Fixed cost
- Achieved scope requirements
- The Project was completed ahead of schedule
