Geotechnical Site Investigation & Report (BC)
ZALIG completed geotechnical site investigation & report for TELUS Communication Towers with heights ranging from 30m to 70m.
- Project Goal
The purpose of the site investigation was to address the following scope of work:
- Design of typical screw pile, cast-in-place pile. Lateral resistance of guy anchors with ultimate and serviceability limit state data.
- Soil Investigation involving soil resistivity, PH level, salt & moisture concentration, and temperature for cathodic protection design, plus Liquefaction potential.
- Determine soil properties encountered during drilling and the likelihood of foundation design impacts.
- Laboratory testing to permit the development of geotechnical design parameters.
- Results
On-site drilling of over 5 boreholes to depths ranging from 14 m or auger refusal was performed along with laboratory materials testing which included:
- Moisture Content ASTM D2216
- Sulphate Analysis ASTM C1580
- Atterberg Limits ASTM 4318
- Corrosion Testing
- Project Benefits:
- Fixed cost
- Achieved scope requirements
- The Project was completed ahead of schedule
