ZALIG completed a geotechnical site investigation (GSI) for the proposed Tank Farm and Rail Spur.
- Project Goal
The purpose of the site investigation was to address the following:
- General geotechnical characteristics and borehole log of the project site
- Nature and extent of fill and implications for construction
- Groundwater, sloughing conditions, and subsurface drainage requirements
- Recommended foundations types (shallow/deep foundations)
- Basement wall and other design parameters
- Seismic site classification
- Frost design considerations
- Recommendations for Gravel pad for Tank farm and Asphalt parking
- Recommendations for a heavy traffic access route
- Groundwater and sloughing level at the completion of field drilling.
- Identification of utility crossings and any other pertinent information.
- Results
Laboratory testing includes the following:
- Moisture Content ASTM D2216
- Sulphate Analysis ASTM C1580
- Atterberg Limits ASTM 4318
