- Overview
Nov. 2019 ZALIG completed geotechnical site investigation & report for the largest portfolio of Communication Towers for Rogers Communications with heights ranging from 30m to 70m.
- Project Goal
The purpose of the site investigation was to address the following scope of work:
- Design of typical screw pile, cast-in-place pile. Lateral resistance of guy anchors with ultimate and serviceability limit state data.
- Soil Investigation involving soil resistivity, PH level, salt & moisture concentration and temperature for cathodic protection design.
- Determine soil properties encountered during drilling and likelihood of foundation design impacts
- Laboratory testing to permit the development of geotechnical design parameters.
- Results
On-site drilling of over 35 boreholes to depths ranging from 14 m or auger refusal was performed along with laboratory materials testing which included:
- In-situ moisture content tests ASTM D2216
- Sulphate tests ASTM C1580
- Atterberg limit tests ASTM D4318
- Corrosion Testing
