- Overview
In July of 2015, ZALIG Team (under Opus Stewart Weir & Co. Ltd.) completed a geotechnical site investigation & report for the above-mentioned development Greenview, AB on the behalf of Pembina Pipeline Corporation. The project included the construction of large diameter tanks, and pipeline leading to another facility.
- Project Goal
The purpose of the geotechnical investigation was to determine and evaluate:
- Subsurface soil profiles and their geotechnical characteristics
- Groundwater and sloughing conditions
- Settlement analysis
- Field and laboratory investigation results for:
- design and construction of foundations for the building office
- design and construction of foundations for the proposed tanks
- design and construction of the proposed roads and rail spurs
- Considerations for frost heave protection and erosion control
- Results
Laboratory testing includes the following:
- Moisture Content ASTM D2216
- Sulphate Analysis ASTM C1580
- Atterberg Limits ASTM 4318
- Consolidation Test ASTM D2435-90
