ZALIG completed a geotechnical site investigation (GSI) for the proposed Tank Farm and Rail Spur.
The purpose of the site investigation was to address the following:
General geotechnical characteristics and borehole log of the project site
Nature and extent of fill and implications for construction
Groundwater, sloughing conditions, and subsurface drainage requirements
Recommended foundations types (shallow/deep foundations)
Basement wall and other design parameters
Seismic site classification
Frost design considerations
Recommendations for Gravel pad for Tank farm and Asphalt parking
Recommendations for a heavy traffic access route
Groundwater and sloughing level at the completion of field drilling.
Identification of utility crossings and any other pertinent information.
Laboratory testing includes the following:
Moisture Content ASTM D2216
Sulphate Analysis ASTM C1580
Atterberg Limits ASTM 4318
Fixed cost
Achieved scope requirements
The project was completed ahead of schedule
